Bankers is a great place to start as an insurance sales person. They have great training but I hated to cold calling to reach clients. Multiple sales had to be made weekly to keep income coming in. Bankers gave little legitimate assistance in getting leads. Don’t forget that during the majority of your “employment” with bankers life, you are 100% commission based, with the exception of your first month there where they give you a tiny bit to live off of. It honestly wouldn’t be too terribly bad if they actually gave you good leads to go off of, but you guessed it, they don’t.It’s true, there is no real worth while training except how to prospect. Overall, Bankers Life gave me a few hard lessons which I have to appreciate - and one I won’t forgive or forget. Some of the higher ups need lessons in sympathy and empathy. Rewards, good commission rates, pep talks, hard life lessons…. If you like fast paced, people oriented work then Bankers Life is a great place. I was offered the position contingent on finishing a licensing exam and like most insurance companies the hiring process is fast but loose (high turn over job type).
